What Are All-On-X Dental Implants

The All-on-X “Teeth in a Day” procedure is a life-changing solution that replaces failing or missing teeth with a secure, natural-looking smile—all in just one day! This advanced technique involves removing any remaining damaged teeth, strategically placing dental implants, and securing a fixed, functional set of teeth for immediate results.

Beyond restoring smiles, this procedure boosts confidence and transforms lives. Many patients come to us struggling with severe decay, failing dental work, or broken teeth. All-on-X “Teeth in a Day” provides them with a permanent, comfortable solution that enhances both their appearance and overall quality of life.

Superior aesthetics | Looks and feels just like natural teeth.

Superior chewing ability compared to other full-mouth tooth replacement options.

How it Works

The All-on-X “Teeth in a Day” procedure involves removing any remaining teeth, placing 4 to 6 implants per arch, and securing a low-profile, fixed bridge for immediate function. The implants are strategically positioned—often at precise angles—to maximize bone support and avoid the sinuses, reducing the need for costly bone grafts and minimizing healing time.

Traditionally, All-on-4 uses four implants with an acrylic denture on a titanium framework. However, at Denville Dental Group, we’ve refined this approach based on our extensive experience in implant placement to deliver superior results. We personalize each treatment plan to fit your unique anatomy, ensuring the best possible outcome. Your doctor will determine whether 4 to 6 implants per arch are ideal for you, then secure a custom temporary bridge the same day—allowing you to leave our office with a fully functional, confident smile while your implants integrate with the jawbone.

Once the healing process is complete, the final All-on-X restoration is crafted from zirconia, a high-quality material that is significantly stronger and more durable than traditional acrylic denture teeth. Zirconia offers a natural, lifelike appearance while providing superior stain resistance and improved hygiene. This ensures a longer-lasting, more aesthetically pleasing result compared to the acrylic and titanium hybrid bridges commonly used by other All-on-X providers.

Am I a Candidate?

Most patients qualify for the All-on-X procedure, even those who have been told they don’t have enough bone for dental implants. By strategically placing a combination of straight and angled implants, your doctor can maximize contact with the strongest areas of your jawbone while avoiding the sinuses. This advanced technique often eliminates the need for expensive and time-consuming bone grafting procedures.

During your consultation, your doctor will perform a thorough evaluation to determine if the All-on-X “Teeth in a Day” solution is the right fit for you.

Zirconia vs. Traditional Denture Materials

Zirconia is widely recognized as the premier material for All-on-X restorations due to its unmatched strength, longevity, and resistance to wear. As a high-quality ceramic, it is an excellent choice for permanent All-on-X teeth, providing both durability and aesthetics.

One of the key advantages of zirconia in All-on-X restorations is its ability to withstand strong chewing forces without chipping or cracking, ensuring your new smile remains functional and beautiful for years. Additionally, zirconia is biocompatible, reducing the risk of allergic reactions or gum irritation, making it ideal for patients with sensitivities.

Beyond its strength, zirconia offers a naturally lifelike appearance. Unlike acrylic or metal-based options, zirconia mimics the translucency of natural teeth, delivering a radiant and seamless smile. Its smooth, polished surface also makes it easy to clean and resistant to stains, helping to maintain its brightness over time.

For patients seeking a long-lasting, durable, and aesthetically superior solution, zirconia is the optimal choice for All-on-X “Teeth in a Day” restorations, ensuring a confident and worry-free smile for years to come.

All-On-X Dental Implants Procedure Timeline

The procedure generally lasts between 4 to 6 hours, depending on whether you are receiving treatment for a single arch (upper or lower) or both arches (full mouth). By the time you leave our office, your temporary All-on-X bridge(s) will be securely attached to your newly placed implants.

You will wear these temporary bridges for approximately 4 months, allowing the implants to fully fuse with your jawbone while your gums and bone heal into a stable position. This healing period is essential to ensure the best fit and long-term success of your final, custom-designed bridges.

Once healing is complete, we’ll begin fabricating your permanent All-On-X bridge(s). This process takes a few appointments over 5-6 weeks, during which you'll have input in designing your perfect smile.

Surgery & Same-Day Smile Transformation

On the day of your procedure, our skilled surgical team performs all necessary treatments in a precise, 3–4 hour appointment. To ensure your utmost comfort, we recommend IV sedation, administered by our board-certified dental anesthesiologist. During this visit, we complete extractions, bone grafting, recontouring, and implant placement—all in one streamlined procedure.

Utilizing a fully digital workflow, we capture detailed digital impressions and photogrammetry scans to ensure the highest level of accuracy. Our in-house lab technician then brings your new smile to life, designing and 3D printing customized temporary restorations based on your pre-planned design. These beautiful, natural-looking teeth are securely fixed in place before you leave, meaning you walk out with a confident, functional smile—without the need for removable appliances. These beautiful temporary restorations are designed to give you an immediate, natural-looking smile while your implants heal over the next three months. However, they are not meant for full function just yet. While they provide excellent aesthetics and allow you to speak and smile with confidence, it's important to follow a modified diet to protect your implants during the healing process.

For the first 10–12 weeks after surgery, you’ll need to maintain a softer diet, avoiding hard, crunchy, or chewy foods—so no steak just yet! This healing period is crucial for allowing the implants to integrate properly with your bone, ensuring the long-term success of your final restorations. Our team will provide detailed post-operative instructions and ongoing support to guide you through this phase comfortably and successfully.
